Three Reasons to start your own Side Business

From Avon to Uber, people have always tried their hand at a part-time job. In recent years it’s been referred to as a “side hustle” but the idea is still the same. A little extra work after your day job could bring in extra money for your family without a full-time job commitment.

If you’re scrolled through Facebook or swiped through Instagram you’ve surely seen posts about becoming an ambassador or consultant or associate for a brand. While some people do find success in these fields it can be over-saturated sometimes. We can all think of one or two friends who are involved in some multi-level marketing campaign. That’s because people are willing to put extra effort into something if they can call their own.

So rather than signing up to sell juice or make-up or wrapping paper, why not start your own business? Here’s three reasons why:

You make the hours – One of the largest reasons people start their own side business is because they can determine the amount of time they want to spend on it. Whether its a few hours each day or one weekend a month, you can make your own schedule and decide a time that works best for you.

You make the money – Sometimes it’s the hardest part of working for someone else but the truth is at the end of the day, your hard work is putting the majority of the money in someone else’s pocket. When you have your own successful business, it’s you who gets to keep the profits. if you put in the work and you take the risk, then you get to keep the bulk of the rewards.

You make something for your family – As someone who runs their own business, I can tell you that one of the unexpected benefits is not just having something you can call your own, but having something you can share with your family. You get the opportunity to grow closer with your partner when you work together on a business. You learn more about each other and can really strengthen your relationship. Your hard work and mindset won’t be lost on your children either. They’ll notice the importance of work ethic and it creates a lasting impression on them.

These are just a few of the things we’ve learned in running our own side business over the years. It’s been a great fit for us and we truly believe it can work for you as well.

We want to know what’s keeping you from starting your own business. Send us a quick message and let us know. That’s all we ask.
